Opinion poll puts Ogah ahead in Abia gubernatorial race

As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holds its governorship primaries today, an opinion poll conducted by Accurate Resources, a media and marketing research firm, has put business mogul and guber aspirant in Abia State, Dr. Uche Ogah, in the lead among 13 contestants in the state.

This is coming at a time when the Ogah Campaign Organisation told its supporters to discountenance a news item on the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State that there would be two venues for accreditation and voting in today’s governorship primaries.

The poll conducted between November 22 and 28 on 1,000 prospective voters in each of the 17 local government areas in the state saw Ogah polling 15, 634 out of 17, 000 votes, representing 82.49 per cent. He was trailed by former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc, Alex Otti of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who garnered 760 votes. Other aspirants, like Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba, polled 519; Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, 501; Eric Acho Nwakanma, 481; Chief Chikwe Udensi, 207 and Okey Emuchay, 14.

In the opinion, Mac Wabara, polled 14 votes; Senator Nkechi Nwogu, 105; Friday Nwosu, 105, Chief Iheanocho Okezie, 70; Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, 81; Chief Emeka Nwogu, 14 and Chief Chris Akomas 43.

The poll, which was randomly selected, was carried out simultaneously in all the councils, at work places, streets and motor garages.
