Man dies after baseball attack in Swords last month
A man who was attacked with a baseball bat in Swords in Dublin last month has died in hospital.
45-year-old Taiwo Jamani was put on life support after he was beaten up on Main Street in Swords just before lunch time on October 10.
Traffic ground to a halt while shoppers and passersby watched on in horror after a fight broke out between two men and one of them battered the other with a baseball bat.
The fight came to a brutal end after Taiwo Jamani suffered a violent blow to the back of the head.
Witnesses told Gardaí that he slumped to the ground and lost consciousness.
An ambulance was called and the Nigerian native was rushed to Beaumont Hospital where he remained in a critical condition until he lost his fight for life today.
37-year-old Jooda Ah kan bi, from Applewood in Swords, has already been charged with assault causing harm in connection with the attack.
