N150 Million Fraud: Convicted Army Colonel gave N11 million to Oyedepo’s Winner’s Chapel

Living Faith Church, aka Winner’s Chapel, with headquarters in Otta Ogun State, and owners of Convenant University, was as one of the beneficiaries of the N150 million Colonel Robert Ahangba, stole from Bayelsa state Government.

Ahangba  was convicted on Tuesday by an Army Court Martial, and sentenced to a seven year jail term subject to confirmation by higher military authority.

Ahangba, a Nigerian army officer and the former aide to late General Azazi confessed that he used the deceased's name to extort N150 million Naira from  Bayelsa State and paid a total of 11 million naira as tithe to a Pentecostal church owned by Bishop David Oyedepo.

He said he donated N11 million to the church in two installments of N9 million and N2 million.

Over N130million were found in different bank accounts at Union Bank and First Bank

The Former Aide De Camp (ADC) to the late National Security Adviser General Andrew Owoye Azazi, used the name of Azazi to collect N150 million from the former Bayelsa State Governor Timipre Sylva to secure his second term.

The court, chaired by the President of the GCM, Brigadier General Edward Nze and the Judge Advocate, Captain Chukwudi Okonkwo, also ordered the Military Police and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to ensure the amount is recovered and paid back to Bayelsa state government.
