MASSOB rejects National Confab
… It’s political –Uwazuruike
From DOM EKPUNOBI, Onitsha
The National leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, has declared in Onitsha, Anambra State, that the organisation would not participate in the proposed National Conference if it is politicized.
Chief Uwazuruike said MASSOB would not hesitate to pull out in the event of a hijack of the conference by politicians, adding that political office holders should be excluded from the conference.
The MASSOB leader, who spoke through his Personal Assistant and Ogbaru Regional Administrator, Emmanuel Omenka, recalled that for years, the Igbo nation had been schemed out in the affairs of the country by the Federal Government having been denied of high profile positions.
He suggested that participants of the conference should be drawn from the grassroots, adding that public office holders should distance themselves from the conference for a true representation to emerge.
On the killings in some parts of the country, Chief Uwazuruike advised the Igbo living in the troubled areas to return home and avoid their continued massacre by members of the Boko Haram insurgents.
