ABC TRANSPORT BOSS SETS UP VEHICLE ASSEMBLY PLANT IN SOUTH-EAST



The desire to boost economy and further create jobs may have spurred the boss of ABC Transport PLC into his latest undertaking that would see him assemble Schacman heavy-duty vehicles and tractors in South-East, Nigeria in the next 3 months.

The celebrated transporter while sealing agreement recently with Chinesse heavy-duty auto group, Shaanxi Heavyduty and Automobile Import and Export Company Limited kick-starting his new business drive said that his choice of Schacman brand is strategic as it has proved very reliable, strong and acceptability in morethan 80 countries including African. Also, the ex-University of Nigeria, Student Union Government’s Director of Transport praised the new National Automobile Policy as fostering development and thus encouraged this latest venture.

Schacman Truck’s entrance into the Nigeria Automobile Assembly Plant is an initiative between Transit Support Services Limited Chaired by Mr Frank Nneji and Shaanxi Heavy duty and Automobile Import and Export Coy Ltd , and would in the next 3 months roll out her new heavy-duty vehicles from the Emene Industrial estate premises of Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company (ANAMCO). It is expected that initially the Plant would assemble 3000 trucks annually and increase same with time as the Shaanxi team are impressed with the existing facilities at the site.

On this relationship, Mr Zhong Yi, Schacman representative in charge of Africa stated that the Schacman has over 1000 trucks on the Nigerian roads already and would further same through this present partnership with a known transporter.

You may recall that the Federal government recent Roadmap to developing the Automobile sector has seen higher tariff proposed on imported automobile forcing a number of these companies into building Vehicle assembly plants.
